Here’s what directors have to say about Lili Haydn:
"Absolutely a dream to work with. Her score on The House That Jack Built took the film to a whole other level. I never want to work with another composer again. Lili spoils you with her musical gifts, artistry and passion. Once she's on board, you won't find a more skillful and accessible partner on the film. Without a doubt you should hire Lili Haydn to compose your score." - Henry Barrial (Director, The House That Jack Built)
"After two minutes of listening to Lili's music we knew she was perfect to score the music for ANITA. She powerfully and elegantly captured the soul of Anita and her journey home." - Freida Lee Mock (Academy Award Winning Director, ANITA)
"Production values are tops, especially Lili Haydn’s score, which crescendoes when it should and occasionally rings triumphant." - Variety Magazine review of ANITA
"Your music is such a huge talking point about the film!!! It's truly the gem of the story. You composed it so perfectly for the narrative. I can't wait to work with you again!" - Monica Raymund (Director, Tanya)

Oct. 26, 2017 - Honored to be a part of best Music Documentary Hollywood Music in Media Awards nominee, alongside the brilliant Lesley Barber, Miriam Cutler, Laura Karpman, Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum, Kathryn Bostic, Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, Lolita Ritmanis , Heather McIntosh, Diane Warren, Germaine Franco, Julia Newmann, Nan Schwartz, Penka D Kouneva, Sharon Farber, Starr Parodi, Wendy Blackstone. Thank you Sara Nesson for making Women Who Score.
"Women Who Score" is a concert documentary celebrating women composers changing the score in Hollywood. In 2016, out of the 250 highest grossing films in Hollywood, only 3% were composed by women. Despite winning 25 major awards including Oscars, Grammys Emmys, Golden Globes, and countless nominations, women composers have a long way to go.
This short film documents the time-crushing rehearsal process running through 20 scores in 2 days, and introduces for one-night-only - Women Who Score: Soundtracks Live Concert - performed by a live 80 person orchestra.
To get past the Hollywood gatekeepers, Music Branch Academy Governor and 4-time Emmy Winner Laura Karpman, co-founded The Alliance for Women Film Composers (AWFC) alongside Miriam Cutler and Lolita Ritmanis. Karpman's vision was to showcase 20 women composers to perform their scores by a live orchestra. The "Women Who Score" event, hosted by Grand Performances in Downtown, LA, on August 19th, 2016, was the first of its kind. This film highlights the concert and the time crunching rehearsal process to rehearse 20 scores in 2 days.
